Take Care Of These Points In Your Business And The Money Will Take Care Of Itself.
Call me an eves dropper but when I hear people talking business, especially internet business I can't help but have one ear open in case I hear something good t hat I can use.
Actually it's not all selfish…
Over the weekend I must have been feeling altruistic, because I was sitting in a café and overheard a couple in a café talking about their web business.
Actually they were having an argument about it.
They were not happy.
They had spent all this time trying to set up a website, made it beautiful, paid a developer to code all kinds of flash stuff…
and hadn't made a single sale.
Not a penny.
I had to interrupt. I bought them a coffee and told them I might be able to help. I hate seeing people make this harder than it needs to be. I spent 15 minutes listening to their business plan and all the things they had done… Honestly they complained so much I was starting to regret my decision to interfere!
But the long and the short of it was that they had over complicated things, focused on all the wrong things and labored under the delusion of the “build it and they will come” theory.
Online, if you build it… well… you've built it… that's all.
You don't need a 50 page website with Amazon links, you don’t need fancy graphics, you don't need a developer to code in all kinds of crazy functionality…
I want you to take this message to heart. (this is what I told them and what I am telling you today)
Build a 2 page website.
Page 1 – offer something of high value to your target audience for free in exchange for their contact details.
Page 2 – Deliver what you promised them
Then just stay in touch with them via email. Give them good info. Help them.
If you know some detailed information about a subject and you have given them some great information relating to that subject with your free gift…
Then take it as read that they are interested in that subject and will want more information.
Share your own story – how did you get all this good information, why did you dedicate your time to mastering that skill?
What most people forget once they get really good at something is that what seems elementary for them is really hard for others who don't know anything about that subject…
and they want, and need help.
If you can just email these people and help them, without asking anything in return, then when you do ask for something you will have built trust with them.
There's some concept in psychology about an “emotional bank account” that you have with people.
You build trust by making deposits etc So when you have made your first product, or you find a great product that you can be an affiliate for then you can send your people there.
I want to make this very clear though…
This is not some recipe for tricking people or manipulating people into buying random stuff online… People are smart – if your motives are wrong then they will feel it.
But if you are genuinely trying to help them…
If you really care that people understand your information…
If you are committed to helping them improve their lives with what you have to offer…
Your emotional bank account with them will be massive and the money will take care of itself.
Once you have got that structure in place it's just a case of sharing your free offer with the world. Share it on social media, Share it with friends. Ask the people on your list to share it with their friends.
Advertise your free offer, Run a competition to give away even more information and have them share your free offer as a way to get more entries…
Just find ways to feed the funnel.
the more people you help the more money you will make – simple!
Going back to the couple in the café…
Let's just say that these were all the things they were not doing… Until now… and that I made a big deposit in their emotional bank account… hopefully they pay it forward and help someone else one day.
